Wednesday my group switched to volunteering at Craig Elementary School. Hazel, Debbie, and Dori were each in a preschool class. Mary P was with a first grade class. And I was with a second grade class. It was an experience we are all thankful to have had the experience, but our hearts break for both the teachers and kids there. Although there was no physical labor yesterday, unless it was physically seperating kids in a fight, we all find ourselves more exhasted today. It was emotionally stressful versus the physical stress. But it is where God placed us for the day, and pray that God uses us to work in those kids and teachers. Mary P had an intern in her class, and encouraged him to remember that teaching and touching one child makes a difference in their life.
The constrction part of the group continued insulating and dry walling. Yesterday they started “mudding” the dry wall. They’re beginning to get curious as to who will finish the work they started in later weeks.
We went to the Lenten service at Prince of Peace which is the building Camp Restore is using. We sang accapella, which was beautiful.
God’s blessings!
